Teen’s Table
Christmas in July
Teen’s Table is a free program series for Squamish youth aged 14-18 made possible by the collaboration of Under One Roof, Helping Hands, and Squamish Community services. This series has featured a variety of food-oriented activities including: learning about industrial kitchens, cooking over a campfire and BBQ, learning how to pickle and preserve food, and learning about gardening.

Christmas in July is a very successful annual fundraising event in July taking place at local grocery stores around Squamish, including Nesters, Save on Foods and Independent. We prepare a shopping list of much needed items at the food bank which is distributed to shoppers as they enter the grocery store. This way the shoppers are donating food that is fresh and purposeful. We are always looking for new volunteers to participate in this fun event. Dressing up in Christmas outfits is optional but highly recommended!

Thanksgiving Food Drive

We run the Thanksgiving Food Drive every September in conjunction with the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints and the Squamish Multifaith Association. On average during this food drive we will collect over 8000 lbs of food from households in the community. It is a big operation requiring over 100 volunteers to participate in a variety of roles, including donation pick ups and sorting donations at the food bank.
